The more information you provide to us, the better we can tailor our search for you. Don’t feel embarrassed, silly or like we will judge you – trust us when we say we’ve seen and heard it all before!

Have Clear Expectations

You’re joining us to meet someone to share your life with and we don’t take that lightly.

As soon as you join Cupid in the City we begin the matchmaking process – thinking about who would be a great match for you, headhunting suitable matches and cross matching where appropriate with our partner matchmakers. Such an important task does take time. Rest assured that we are as eager as you are to get to the fun part and we will have a match for you as soon as possible! Equally we want to make sure it’s a great match so do bear with us.

Be Open to New Experiences

As matchmaker we often know people you might not normally meet, so be open to considering matches that might not initially seem like your “type”. You might be surprised by how well you connect with someone who brings something fresh to the table.

Think About What is Really Important

Joining a matchmaker is a brilliant time for a bit of deep digging and thinking. Getting truly honest with yourself. We dedicate so much of our time, thoughts and energy to every other aspect of our life but dating we often leave for chance.

You probably have some dating horror stories. It’s near impossible to escape dating without racking up a few! The important part is that they don’t create sweeping statements. For example “I once dated a French guy and it didn’t end well so no European matches please”. In that statement you’ve wiped out hundreds and thousands of potential matches! Don’t let 1 person or 1 negative experience stop you from meeting someone amazing.

That might sound an extreme example but it’s a truthful one! We all have non-negotiables and we completely respect that, this is the perfect time to think them through.

Provide Feedback After Each Date

After meeting someone, share your thoughts with your matchmaker, both positive and constructive. This feedback will help refine your search and ensure the next match is even better. We’re always at the end of whatsapp/email and the phone.

Stay Open-Minded

If your first match doesn’t turn out to be the love of your life please don’t feel jaded or down.

Matchmaking is a process and it works best when you’re optimistic, excited for the matches and have open communication with your matchmaker. All our matchmakers are determined to ensure each and every one of our clients leaves us happy and in love. That is the end goal we are all working towards and rest assured we have your back and will be working with you every step of the way to make it happen!

Keep Communicating

Don’t be afraid to reach out to your matchmaker if you have any concerns, or simply want to chat. In fact, most of us became matchmakers because we LOVE working with people so we’re always happy to meet for coffee or have a catch up on the phone.

When we’re making matches we really appreciate open, honest and quick communication, we don’t want to leave anyone hanging!
